Vice President - Marketing

Our client has an opening for Vice President of Marketing. The ideal candidate will be classically trained and have deep experience in the 4 Ps of marketing as well as possess significant strength and a proven track record in digital channels, particularly eCommerce. You must have led enterprise-wide rollouts, built solid marketing teams and performed as a champion for change. In this role, you will lead conceptualizing and implementing brand strategy, market segment, product category, pricing and promotion in the specialty industrial distribution industry. Responsibilities include strategy for branding and promotion, market and business development, coordination with the business platform and sales leadership, market research and planning as well direction and management of the marketing team. B2B and some B2C.

  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics for all areas of marketing, including digital, branding, pricing, product category development, promotions, event planning, and communications
  • Develop the annual marketing plan with strategies, analytics, tactics and resources necessary to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Create and execute a dynamic best-in-class Digital and eCommerce offering across all platforms
  • Lead the inventory management solution offering for effective deployment.  Identify gaps and develop new technologies to aggressively increase sales penetration across all business platforms
  • Lead implementation and strategic deployment of effective CRM tools
  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the market research function.  Identify emerging industry trends and markets while developing strategies, plans, risk assessment and anticipated returns for market or category entry
  • Refine and manage a system-wide performance measurement and reporting process that can track, measure and analyze results
  • Manage marketing services department, including development and distribution of all marketing collateral 
  • Develop team marketing approach with key suppliers to maximize utilization of their resources and facilitate communication on pricing, new products, promotions and sales programs

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 8+ years in marketing, marketing communications and/or digital/eCommerce
  • Proactive, driven leader with strong persuasion skills
  • Proven, entrepreneurial professional who is familiar with best practices
  • Collaborative team builder
  • Knowledge of key markets and products associated with specialty industrial distribution/wholesale
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong project management, planning and organizational skills
  • 25%, plus some international travel may be required
